Roughly 90 sq ft of shadow-free roof for every kW. A typical 3 kW home system needs about 270 sq ft — a terrace, or the sunny side of a sloped roof.
Yes, but it produces less. Winter fog and summer haze lower output on those days, which is why we size systems on yearly averages rather than the sunniest day.
A standard on-grid system switches off when the grid goes down — a safety rule that protects line workers. If you want backup, a hybrid system with batteries keeps your essentials running.
A two-way meter records the units you take from the grid and the units your panels send back. Your bill is worked out on the difference, so extra daytime power isn't wasted.
Households installing rooftop solar on their own home with a valid electricity connection can apply on the national portal, pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Support is ₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW, up to ₹78,000. We can guide you through the application.
Quality panels usually carry 25-year performance warranties and keep producing beyond that, slowly losing a little output each year. Inverters typically have shorter warranties and may need replacing once in the system's life.
